Trust me! You do not want to go to HEAVEN!

Well, the title is scandalous, eh?
Because, seriously? who doesn't want to go to heaven?
Right?

But, believe me. MANY people, especially those who profess to be "christians", don't really want to be there. They just don't realize that.

John 5:39-40
39   Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40    And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

What am I saying here?

First of, I want to make sure we understand what HEAVEN is.

Psalm 11:4    The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

Psalm 14:2    The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

Psalm 20:6    Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

Psalm 33
13    The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
14    From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

Psalm 136:26    O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

We see that HEAVEN is a place where God dwells. It is His holy habitation, the Lord's throne.
Anyone who gets there, he'll see that God is there. He owns it. He owns all things and He does things His way.

So, as if that's news.. What's the deal about it?

Well, if you say you want to be in heaven, it should also mean that when you get to heaven, you will be with God, you will be under God's rules as well, you will serve Him, you will worship Him and you will obey Him.

But if your life here on earth does not reflect any hint that you WANT and zealously desire to do the things you will be doing in heaven, how come you say you want to be there?

If you don't want the things of God, if you don't like God's law, if you don't like serving Him, if you don't like praying and talking to Him, if you don't worship Him with your heart and you disobey and run from Him, I don't think you will love being in heaven.

You cannot be in heaven and yet, don't want to go under God's authority. You cannot be in heaven and have God out of there, because the moment God is out of heaven, it is no longer HEAVEN.

You see?
With the way you live your life, it is obvious you have no passion and desire for God and His will, yet you say you want Heaven.

John 3
19    And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20    For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21    But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Come out of darkness and love the light!

Acts 2
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 3
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Acts 8
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

Acts 17
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Acts 26
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

You don't know how much time you have left.

John 12
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

Proverbs 1
20    Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21    She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22    How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
23    Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
24    Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25    But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26    I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27    When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28    Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29    For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
30    They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

Come to God, NOW.

Isaiah 55
6    Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7    Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Thank you LORD

When I said to the Lord, “I am so short of where you want me to be.”
He gently answered “That’s okay. That’s all the farther you and I can walk together.”

When I said to the Lord, “I don’t know who I am.”
He gently answered “That’s okay. I know who you are.”

When I said to the Lord, “I am so tired of fighting.”
He gently answered “That’s okay. Satan is down for the count.”

When I said to the Lord, “My actions aren’t reflecting my heart.”
He gently answered “That’s okay. Mine did.”

When I said to the Lord, “My mind is corrupted.”
He gently answered “That’s okay. Use mine for awhile.”

When I said to the Lord, “I don’t know how to love.”
He gently answered “That’s okay. I will give you free lessons.”
